California College Promise Grant (CCPG)
The California College Promise Grant (formerly BOG Fee Waiver) waives enrollment fees at all 116 California Community Colleges. This is one of the easiest funding sources to qualify for when pursuing CNA certification.
Employment Training Panel (ETP)
The ETP funds training for California workers through their employers. Healthcare employers can receive reimbursement for CNA training costs for their staff.
Federal Pell Grant
The Federal Pell Grant is a need-based grant from the U.S. Department of Education. Unlike loans, Pell Grants do not need to be repaid. Many CNA training programs at community colleges and vocational schools accept Pell Grants.
WIOA (Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act)
The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) provides federal funding for job training programs, including CNA certification. Funds are distributed through local American Job Centers (also known as CareerOneStop centers).
